A Novel Bacillus Spore Viability Assay for Rapid Validation of Pathogen Decontamination

Dr. Adrian Ponce, principal investigator on a project entitled "A Novel Bacillus Spore Viability Assay for Rapid Validation of Pathogen Decontamination" for the Department of Homeland Security's Chemical and Biological Research & Development Section, is currently in the last 3 months of the first Phase of research. The most recent results in this investigation will be presented at the next Department of Homeland Security conference in late January 2008. DHS has been informed of Ponce's partnership with Advance Space Monitor, LLC and their interest in developing commercial instrumentation for Homeland Security applications in biodefense, response, and restoration.
